Fidelio Vallis Could be Another in a Long List of Nicholls French Winners
We see a few trends in national hunt racing and one of those is the importing of French horses to the Paul Nicholls yard. Not only has this happened a lot, but it has also been a huge reason why Paul Nicholls has been successful in the last decade. He’s had great success sourcing horses, bringing them over here and winning with them and that is something I think will continue on Friday at Uttoxeter with Fidelio Vallis.
This four year old is making his debut in British racing after two runs in France. He placed in both of those, finishing second on the flat back in August 2018 before finishing second again over hurdles in April 19. He is now over here and with one of the best national hunt trainers in the world, it looks as though it is his chance to shine.
Although he never got to the winner in France, overall he jumped fairly well and that has been something that he has shown since coming over to Nicholls. This horse has been talked about as a nice prospect for the future and one that looks to be a very fluent jumper.
The race that Paul Nicholls has found here is a good opportunity for him, one that he can go close in, assuming that he is fit and ready for UK debut. Something else I really like here is the track at Uttoxeter. This is tight and narrow, and a track that suits horses which have flat speed to use around the circuit. That is exactly what this horse has from his time in France, as well as having hurdling experience and those two together can see him home in front in my opinion.
This is a nice prospect by all accounts and Fidelio Vallis can get off to a winning start in the UK for Paul Nicholls. To see what else we fancy at Uttoxeter, head over to our horse racing tips page!
