Rock Solid Northernpowerhouse Can Finally be Rewarded
Northernpowerhouse has been running very well so far this season, with a second and a third from his two runs. Those races have both been better than this one, with rock solid form that has been franked by others running well and winning again. He deserves a break, and this classified stakes race at Pontefract is where I think he will get it from. He looks capable of running right up to his handicap mark, if not slightly better than it and if that is the case then he surely goes very close in this contest.
He started off by finishing second in a 20 runner handicap at Thirsk, losing by just under two lengths. That was a very competitive big field that ran there, and both the winner and the third have gone onto win since. Then he went to Redcar and finished third in what looks like working out to be another very good handicap. Again, the form is working out well with both the winner and the second going onto record wins since that run.
Both of those races represent runs that are the best form in this race, and a repeat of either run will be enough for Northernpowerhouse to get his head in front in this one. There was a lot to like about both, and it seems as though now is the time for him to win a race.
As far as the opposition goes, Dream Of Honour was third over C&D in a better race than this behind two good horses and that is a nice piece of form. However, he is still yet to win from ten starts and keeps finding one too good, I think the same will happen here again today.
I’m going with Northernpowerhouse, a horse who has ran very well in two good handicaps this season, and one who deserves to get his head in front. I think today is the day he finally gets the win he deserves in the classified stakes race at Pontefract.
